Updates on the Jakester . . .
Jake is a fighter. I've posted updates on my blog and thought I'd share that here. So if you want to follow his progress please visit my blog here: adventuresincaninetraining.blogspot.com
Another piece of the pie . . .
I do want to let you all know a bit more . . . while Jake has an obstruction and clearly needs to have it removed the truth is that he may not survive this surgery.

His intestines are so mangled from all the things in the past that he's kind of a horse of a different color, so to speak. He's lived with these horribly tangled intestines for over a year now with special diet, supplements and medications. But after his last surgery the surgeon (who is seeing him now) did say that if this happened again the possibility of him not surviving would be pretty high.

So, the reality of this situation is that the surgery could possibly save him, he will definitely not live one way or the other without it. However, she did say that she may get in there and find that she cannot get to the obstruction due to his massive poor plumbing. If that happens she said she would have to euthanize him on the table.

We want the surgery to take the gamble that he'll make it and survive as we know he's a survivor. He's truly a survivor after all that he's been through. So we hope that he's still strong enough to conquer this too.

But with out the surgery he won't survive anyway. And I cannot fathom having to elect the unimaginable simply because we can't afford it. This is the reason for the request of help.

Again, thank you a zillion times over to those who have generously given to Jake today and in the past. I know that he's had a lot done and we've always been broke. I know that we've always had a huge support system for this sweet boy and I waited for a long to time to ask for it again. I know how many people are just as hard up for money as we are. I also know it's the Christmas season and giving is tight.

So thank you and God Bless to all of you for caring, sharing, donation and being there just to say you are thinking of us. It all means a great deal.
Sweet Jake...
My sweet Lab, Jake, needs surgery. He's got a bowel obstruction. However we don't have the money for them to open him up to find out what's in there.

So unless he can get the surgery, we are going to have to not let him suffer and we will have to elect to humanely euthanize him. That is a road I'm just not ready to take, but if we have to we have to.

Any contributors, your donations are appreciated beyond measure and I am thanking you in advance now. God Bless you!
